The Code Enforcement
Department responsibilities include planning, development review and
enforcement of various City Ordinance and Codes, as well as Building
Inspections. A major role of the department is to coordinate the
review and analysis of development projects to assure their compliance with
City standards and regulations.
The review of development
projects is achieved through the sub-division design review process or a
specific site development plan review. Through these review processes,
the department assures the implementation of the community Comprehensive
Plan guidelines and the Sub-division Regulation standards.
The community has adopted all the
International Building Code and Residential Code to govern new
building construction activity are performed by the department to assure
that all new buildings meet the code standards. To find out more about

Minimum property and nuisance
standards for existing buildings, grass, junk and inoperable vehicles are
administered by the department on a complaint and observation basis.
Department staff also provides
support to various citizen boards that work with the Planning Commission,
Board of Zoning Adjustment, Tree Board, and Code Appeals Board.
The Department also becomes
involved in many special projects that help implement the plans and goals of
the City through grants administration under various state and federal
programs.
The Code Enforcement Department
is located in City Hall. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00
am to 5:00 pm. |
